Detecting selected non-random patterns with individuals control charts

چکیده

Western Electric (1956) and Nelson (1984) proposed rule sets to detect visually obvious process upsets on a control chart. Performance evaluation of these rules require simulating situations that correspond their intended detection purposes such as linear drift, cycling, seesaw sustained mean shifts. These non-random patterns become in the presence reduced variation. Contrary previous assessments where variance is assumed constant, are shown be preferred over Shewhart X CUSUM charts for detecting reduction wide ranges slopes, cycle period/amplitude combinations, alternating shift sizes. One real-data example from Deming's book Out Crisis provided affirms implications extensive simulation analyses.

Detection of Non-Random Patterns in Shewhart Control Charts: Methods and Applications

The main purpose of this article is the development and the study of runs rules applied to a Shewhart type control chart for the mean in order to detect non-random patterns in Phase I, when we are interested to conclude if the process is in a stable condition for the first twenty five or thirty samples in order to estimate the process’ parameters. A characterization scheme such as which rule is...

On the non-parametric multivariate control charts in fuzzy environment

Multivariate control chats are generally used in situations where the simultaneous monitoring or control of two or more related quality characteristics is necessary. In most processes in the real world, distribution of the process characteristics are unknown or at least non-normal, so the non-parametric or distribution-free charts are desirable. Most non-parametric statistical process-control t...

CUSUM charts for detecting special causes in integrated process control

This paper investigates control charts for detecting special causes in an ARIMA(0,1,1) process that is being adjusted automatically after each observation using a minimum mean-squared error adjustment policy. It is assumed that the adjustment mechanism is designed to compensate for the inherent variation due to the ARIMA(0,1,1) process, but it is desirable to detect and eliminate special causes...

The Individuals Control Charts for Burr Distributed Data

The setting of the control limits to utilize on a control chart supposes the assumption of the normality. However, in many situations, this condition does not hold. There are numerous studies on the control charts when the underlying distribution is non-normal. This paper examines the effects of non-normality as measured by skewness and provides an alternative method of designing individuals co...
